ONE TO ONE TRAINING

"One to one" is the best way to begin training. You and your dog will receive personal attention and training at your own pace, with your own needs in mind.

Class training is then an option for some dogs an owners, but is introduced carefully, and dogs are monitored to ensure that they adjust gradually to the other dogs around them. Class training is a social acitivity as well as an opportunity to learn more about dogs, whilst teaching your dog to do a whole range of useful exercises, and a way that he or she will enjoy.

However, ONE TO ONE training prior to joining class training is essential. It gives you chance to discuss your worries, problems and training needs for you and your dog. It also gives me an opportunity to asses your dog and his abilities. You can then do some preparation work prior to joining a training class.

Anti-social, nervous or excitable dogs, don't learn best in a "class" environment. For these dogs a class training environment is too confrontational initially, but with careful conditioning, many dogs learn to adjust.

And for owners of dogs who aren't yet ready to join training classes, there is an open invitation to sit in on my current training classes, without dogs initially. Owners can learn about training techniques and apply them at home - whilst socialising with other owners. Training a dog takes time and patience. In the meantime it can be very supportive to have contact with other owners who are also "training with understanding".
