Rooney, my Border Terrier was taken in on behalf of Border Terrer Welfare at around 15 weeks old. He'd had four homes prior to that and was clearly out of control and well on the road to becoming an aggressive dog. The idea was to work with him until he was safe to home.

However, you can guess the rest. It's taken a long time, with many problems along the way.

Rooney is never going to be an "easy" dog but he's a quick learner and responds well to clicker training, and gets along well with other dogs.

Scoter, named after the black sea duck, keeps the dogs in order and generally gets in the way! She's seen here on the windowsill with pot friends.

Here is my Parson Russell Terrier puppy - not to be confused with a long-legged Jack Russell!

Parson Russell Terriers are decended from the terriers bred by the "Hunting Parson", the Rev John Russell, in the 1800's.

They were originallydeveloped to be small enough to burrow and bolt foxes, yet have legs long enough to keep up with horses.

Here's Draco, my Bearded Dragon. Draco is latin for "dragon" and there's also a constellation called Draco. Harry Potter fans will of course recall Harry's enemy, "Draco Malfoy".

I am of course training him to breathe fire, but we haven't quite got there yet.
